Tekiva, who began her career as an artist and songwriter, has made significant contributions to artist development, both in the studio and through vocal coaching. Her experience includes extensive performances at Hillsong Church and beyond.

Tekiva’s ventures, Detonate Music and MUVVA Music Ltd, reflect her commitment to nurturing creativity in the music industry. MUVVA was established alongside her business partner, Mpho McKenzie, to prioritize the well-being of artists and producers, ensuring they have the support needed to sustain their creative processes. Current artists under MUVVA include Freemonk and Yardes, alongside former manager for Chrissi, who was signed to Island Records from 2020-2023.

Throughout her career, Tekiva has collaborated on notable projects, including songwriting for Olivia Dean’s “No Man,” which was part of the Mercury-nominated album “Messy.” She has also served as executive producer for Chrissi’s “Love Me In Chapters” EP and the vocal producer for the “Back In The Day” EP.

In addition to her work with MUVVA, Tekiva’s projects with Detonate Music include contributing to the soundtrack for the film “Colour Purple,” featuring Celeste’s song “There Will Come a Day.”
